Ara V. Shasteen, age 100 of Tullahoma died Sunday, September 14, 2008 at her home. She was a native of Franklin County, Tennessee and the daughter of the late Jim Wiley and Mattie Driver Ray. She was also preceded in death by her husband Clifford A. Shasteen, two sons Joseph A. and Clifford Shasteen, Jr. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Tullahoma and had recently been honored as their oldest living member. She was a member of the order of the Eastern Star and a recipient of a 50 year pin from the Lady Lions Club of Tullahoma.  She is survived by two sons W. M. “Sonny” Shasteen and Jural Shasteen both of Tullahoma; a daughter Norma (Markalee) Blackwelder, DeLeon Springs, FL; daughters in law Bobbie and Clara Shasteen both of Tullahoma; fourteen grandchildren; 27 Great Grandchildren and a host of great great grandchildren, loving family, and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday night from 5:00 until 8:00 pm and funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday at the Tullahoma Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Herb Hester officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family requests memorials be made to the Hospice of the Highland Rim Foundation, 110 East Lauderdale Street, Tullahoma, TN 37388 or the charity of your choice.
