Life Legacy
Rev. Auburn Martin, age 96 of Tullahoma died Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Harton Regional Medical Center. He was born Christmas day of 1913 in Moore County, a son of the late W. T. “Bill” Martin and Lillian Mae Johnson Martin. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Durm Martin and a brother Edwin “Abe” Martin.
Rev. Martin founded Victory Baptist Church in 1961 and pastored there 36 years until his retirement on December 14, 1997. In addition to holding revivals throughout the United States, he maintained his community wide ministry by his faithful and sometimes twice-daily visits to the patients at Harton Regional Medical Center.
He is survived by a son Jim (Barbara) Martin of Tullahoma; five grandchildren James (Dawn) Martin and Rodger (Stephanie) Martin all of Tullahoma, Brenda Rogers of Manchester, Craig (Kelly) Martin of Winchester and Stephanie Uselton of Tullahoma; seventeen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Visitation with the family will be Monday, March 1, 2010 from 5:00 until 8:00pm at the Tullahoma Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday in the Tullahoma Funeral Home Chapel with Bros. Rick Everhart, Jack Hice, Rudy Wilkinson, Jack Lambert, Carl Tucker and Jim Tedder officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
