Jerry Glen Roper

Jerry Glen Roper, age 89, of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed away from this life on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at NHC of Tullahoma.

Jerry was born on November 21, 1933, in Lincoln County, Tennessee, the son of the late James and Iona Roper. He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Tullahoma where he also was a Deacon and taught Sunday school for fifty years. Jerry was also a US Navy Veteran. Jerry loved to paint, which led him to his passion of being an art teacher at Tullahoma City Schools where he retired after thirty-four years of teaching.  He was also a member of the Toastmaster’s Club. Jerry liked to stay physically fit, which lead him to enjoy riding bikes, playing tennis, and most importantly spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter Holly who he treasured.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Katherine Roper; infant brother, Ronald Roper; granddaughter, Holly Katherine Brazelton. He is survived by his daughter, Marla Roper Brazelton; son, Jon Kevin Roper; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Graveside Services will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens at 2:00 PM with Bro. Herb officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00PM at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
