Johnny Ray Lawson, age 75, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away Monday, January 10, 2022.
Born in Nashville, Tennessee on July 25, 1946, to the late Eff and Sadie Lawson, “Johnny Ray” devoted his life to being a loving, dedicated, hardworking, son, brother and uncle. A simple and humble man, a “Lady’s True Gentleman”, with extraordinary talents, “Johnny Ray” was not conformed to today’s society standards. He was a loyal friend to many, including the late musician, Charlie Daniels and impacted everyone he met by always willing to lend a helping hand. “Johnny Ray” was the owner and operator of his Heating and Cooling (HVAC) Company and will forever be remembered as always having great, affordable rates for his services. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool, street modified stock car racing, was an avid Tennessee Titans fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR. The legendary “Uncle Johnny Ray” will be missed dearly and will never be forgotten.
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his partner of over fifty years, Nora Hobbs Lawson; and one sister, Joanna Lawson.
Survivors include two brothers, Jack “Jackie” Lawson and Jimmy Lawson; three nephews, that are like his own sons, Jack (Shannon) Lawson, Jr., Dwaine (Tiffany) Lawson and Michael (Kelly) Lawson; and a host of many, lifetime friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at Smyrna Train Depot., 98 Front St., Smyrna, Tennessee 37167 on Friday, January 28, 2022, from 6-9PM.
