Lee Roy Lairson, age 76, of Beechgrove, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, March 15th, 2023, at 9:32 pm. He was surrounded by his loving family at his youngest daughter’s home in Tullahoma, Tennessee.
Lee was born in Oklahoma on a Monday, March 3rd, 1947, to the late B.D. (Bart Daniel) Lairson and Mervel (Marie Johnson) Lairson. Lee is a man of Christ and son of God. He held strong in his Christian faith until the day he died. Lee is a United States Army Veteran.
He was often called “MacGyver” by his family because he could fix anything. If Lee did not know how to fix something, he would find a way. He loved working on cars and homes; he always offered to use his skills to help loved ones. He was a nature man- and loved all living things. Lee spent most of his days in the sun outside surrounded by God’s creations. He had a dog by his side every waking moment. Lee was half-Cherokee Native American and embraced the culture and traditions as much as possible. He was a music historian who played harmonica and wrote his own beautiful songs. Lee loved photography and often liked to photograph his friends, family, and nature. Most of all, Lee loved to throw cookouts on holidays he held dear such as Memorial Day or Labor Day. He would invite his closest friends and family to eat by the grill and play outside games.
Lee was a proud man. He was proud of all those he loved. He had the bluest and most trusting eyes. He always had something funny to say and wore a lively smile across his face. Lee will be missed dearly and remembered daily.
In addition to his parents, Lee is preceded in death by his older brother, Bob Donald Lairson. He is survived by his daughters, Lea Francis (Jerry Francis), and Ann Leadingham (Jeff Leadingham); oldest brother, Jerry Dean Lairson (Kip Lairson); grandchildren, Anna Leadingham (Jesse Lamson), Travis Marlow, and Nick Leadingham; along with many loved family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 19th, 2023, at Tullahoma Funeral Home from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.
Tullahoma Funeral Home is honored to serve the Lairson family.
“I live on this Earth
But this Earth is not my home;
I walk along with strangers
But I never walk alone;
I have a brother who has a virgin mother
And a father who sits on his throne;
And someday the rocks will call out his name...”
