Phillip Ray Swinford, age 72, of Tullahoma, Tennessee, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of his home, on Wednesday, October 6, 2021.
Born in Manchester, Tennessee, to the late Elijah and Dorothy Swinford, on July 1, 1949, Phillip devoted his life to being a loving son, husband, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a twenty-year veteran truck driver, employed with Titan Transfer Company, who at the time of his passing, was still working every day and walking two miles a day for his health. He was an avid golfer and UT Vols fan. In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to any music from the 60’s decade, with Neil Diamond being his favorite. Phillip’s fun loving, never meeting a stranger and cut up personality will surely be missed by his dear family and friends.
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Martha Partin; two brothers, Johnny Elijah Swinford and Malcom Swinford; and one granddaughter, Cortney Swinford.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty years, Juanita Steele- Swinford; one son, Christopher (Lisa) Swinford; three brothers, Clyde Swinford, Richard (Diann) Swinford and John Lee Swinford; two sisters, Barbara Sain and Linda (Kippy) Kimbro; one grandson, Phillip “Kyle” Swinford; and two very special great grandchildren, Breuklyn and Tinsliegh.
The Family will receive visitors, at the funeral home, on Sunday, October 10, 2021 from 4-8PM.
Celebration of Life Services will be conducted at Tullahoma Funeral Home on Monday, October 11, 2021 at 3PM with Pastor Quentin Horton officiating.
